About this scholarship

Background: Established in 1905 by a gift from Mrs Jane Coutts in memory of her son, Mr John Coutts who was a graduate of the University of Sydney, this Scholarship provides financial support to students of outstanding academic merit undertaking honours study in the Faculty of Science.

Open to:

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be the student with the highest grades in their third and final year of the Bachelor of Science, who have an unconditional offer of full-time admission for one of the following program in the year of consideration:

  1. appended honours study within the Bachelor of Science (Honours), or
  2. embedded honours study within the Bachelor of Advanced Studies

  Applicants in combined or double degrees are ineligible.

Value: $7,500 per annum.

Duration: Tenable for 1 year
