Training & Personal Development at Schlumberger

9.6 rating for Training, based on 8 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Formal training is great! Informal training is dependent on local operations and you sometimes have to be pushy about what you would particularly like to learn about.
Graduate, Brisbane and Roma
Schlumberger offers first-class training to their employees. The training program is structured and allows you to learn with students from all around the world. It doesn't matter what your technical background is, if you have a strong work ethic and good attitude, you'll be able to learn the tools and material for your particular segment.

For an artificial lift engineer, the training program includes on the job training and training schools. The training programs first include one on all artificial lift methods implemented by the company, then another training program for 4 weeks on electrical submersible pump theory, design, installation and programming. Later on, I will return to Abu Dhabi to take courses in surface equipment for variable speed drives and application engineering courses.

The Fixed-Step Training Program at Schlumberger is very well designed. I'm currently at school for 3 months which is part of Step 1, after school I'll return to the base and continue on with my learning and going out on real jobs.
