What's your job about?

My role as a Data Analyst is to scrutinises information using data analysis. Resultantly, the meaningful insights I pull from the raw data help us extract Business Intelligence, such as KPI, pain points, etc. Hence, it enables to take important and well-informed decisions by identifying various facts and trends.

What's your background?

I grew up in India, where I pursued Bachelor of Electronics & Communication Engineering. I came to Australia to pursue Master of Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney. I am a Business/Data Analyst with over four years of experience. Job searching during the peak of the Pandemic was a huge challenge. I was particularly looking for opportunities in the field of analytics within the Banking & Finance sector. The skillset I developed during my Master’s in the domain of Data Science came in really handy in my job search, and luckily aligned very well with a new role which I was able to land as an Assistant Manager – Data Analyst at Genpact through UTS career hub.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Yes, definitely. All that is required is effective communication skills and eagerness to dive-in and learn. Additionally, someone from a different background brings a diverse perspective and skillset on the table, which can be a big asset.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

The most exciting part of my job is the opportunity to work on live and client facing projects with Big 4 Banks. Additionally, coming form an Analytics background I love playing around with Analytical tools and software. As a data analyst my profile is so diverse, that I get to work on different tools and projects helping me upskill on a regular basis.
