Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
As a female I have always been made to feel that I am equal with my male counterparts. In the engineering group there is pretty well a 50-50 ratio at the moment. I think this is still filtering through into the workplace as there's probably only about 10% women in the technical team at the moment. It would be nice to see more females in leadership roles to look up to but I can see that is starting to change. I don't know much about the maternity leave program.

I am impressed with this companies diversity. A lot of other companies in the same sector are hiring for diversity specifically so white males are pretty much non existent in there grad programs, however this company appears to have a naturalised intake now. There does not appear to be a quota and people are chosen if they are the best fit and as a result the new hires are representative of modern society. There are however lots of old boys who have been here for decades so the statistics probably aren't too crash hot across the workforce

There is quite a gap in gender diversity on the site, but at the more technical level things seem to be much more even. In terms of retention, it is almost too good! The average age of the operators on site are much higher than I thought which is a testiment to how good they have it.

There is no prejudice against women in the workforce, and a number of the operator roles are filled by women. There are few ethnic groups, however this is likely due to the regional location. There is a LGBT group within the company.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
Offers scholarships to women studying engineering. Sponsors university programs that target applicants from less privileged backgrounds. Gives money to the community to support those from all backgrounds.
